How about we start a
new world order? Let's base it on the following principles:
1. Volunteerism rules;
i.e. no currency.
2. One person one
vote.
3. Must be 16 or older
to vote.
4. Simple majority
wins the vote.
5. Everyone has equal
rights.
6. People in in
positions of power can have no rights or privilege not available to those not
in a position of power.
7. Government to be
served by the people for the benefit of all.
8. Education to the
college level is a right for those who want it.
9. Health care is a
right for everyone.
10. Everyone must work
to the extent that they are able.
12. Everyone is
expected to work 40 hours minimum. Exceptions can be made for those who are
disabled and then only by approval of a duly appointed panel that can include
up to two family members. Panel to be comprised of 4-6 individuals.
13. Take no loans,
give no loans. Live off what we produce, gifts accepted. We should however be
net givers, not takers.
14. Housing for all,
individuals are free to decide if they prefer to live in communal residences or
individual abodes.
15. One to one
partners. Must be married to live together. Divorce allowed only after
extensive counselling.
16. Free to leave if
no longer willing to live the lifestyle. Will be given just compensation on
leaving from the accumulated resources of the community. These resources are
derived from our net gain based on trading with outside groups. This assumes
that not everyone living is a member of our society.
17. Everyone to have
equal responsibility to support the community and to take active part in all
decision-making.
18. No job is better
than the other, we are all to share in especially the menial tasks for the
welfare of all.
19. No alcohol, no
smoking.
20. No cars, public
transportation only.
21. Outdoor/indoor
activities highly promoted.
22. Guns only for law
enforcement while on duty and then only if this is adopted at a community level
only.
25. We are to produce the things that are needed for our welfare, they should be of the finest quality because we should have prude in the work we do no matter how inconsequential it may appear unto others. We should produce sufficient so we have to share with others. If it would be of value to us it should be of value to others as well. We can produce materials that we do not need if they exists in the area under our control and we can do so without detriment to ourselves or our neighbors. Such materials would be traded with others for the things we need.
24. Welcome people from all religions so long as they believe in a power higher than themselves. Race is not a factor for inclusion. If the unbeliever comes to us we should access their suitability for inclusion and not turn them away only because they are an unbeliever. We should not force anyone to worship in a manner they do not care to.
If you are interested
in the concepts outlined above I would like to hear from you. We can do this,
together we can change this world. Let's make it better for ourselves and for those in it.
It may have to start with one town, one
block even. More importantly it can start with you, with me...
Think if we had one
town like this. The drug dealer would have no game because there is no
currency. No prostitution, again no currency. Healthy activities would be
promoted and encouraged.
